My first Mississippi Valley Fair experience is happening this week and I've learned a few things.

The biggest thing is that I vastly underestimated the size of the MVF. I was told when I moved to Davenport that the fair was huge here but I didn't realize it was that big of an event. My hometown's tiny district fair in Arkansas cannot even hold a candle to it. For the standard of comparison, the hometown grandstand I emceed there last fall was literally 12 people attending. Not 12-hundred. Just 12.

The amount of food vendors, rides, shows, and mere stuff to do at MVF is so much. Wednesday's grandstand show featuring Nelly and Flo Rida was such a blast for Connor and I to emcee, the food at the fair is extremely delicious, and it's always great for folks to tell us they love listening to our stations. It's so much fun for us all to meet you at the fair and cheer you on as you play the very strategic game of Plinko.

I knew that the QC can put the beer away like it's nothing (a true talent by the way) so I was expecting there would be plenty of drinking. But here are a few of the biggest takeaways from my first Mississippi Valley Fair. I can already tell you that I have seen more crop tops in the last few days than I ever have in my entire nearly 30 years of life.
