5 Iowans Representing Team USA In 2020 Tokyo Paralympics
The 2020 Tokyo Paralympics kicks off tomorrow, August 24, and ends Sunday, September 5. 240 American athletes are heading to Tokyo to compete in the rescheduled 2020 Tokyo Paralympics. Among those 240 athletes, 5 of them hail from Iowa.
The 2020 Tokyo Paralympic opening ceremony is Tuesday, August 24, 2021. The Paralympics were supposed to happen from August 25th through September 6th, 2020. But like everything else, it was pushed back due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Finally, the 2020 Tokyo Paralympic games are here. Among the 240 American athletes going to Tokyo to represent Team USA, five of them hail from the great state of Iowa. Three of those Iowans will be a part of Team USA in Track & Field, one in Compound Archery, and one in Men's Wheelchair Basketball.
Before the opening ceremony tomorrow, we want you to get to know the five Iowans who hope to bring home a medal. No matter the outcome, we are incredibly proud of all of the Americans competing in Tokyo.
