See the Plans for the Field of Dreams Movie Site Expansion

The Field of Dreams movie site is about to be home to several new amenities.

According to site plans revealed today, the Field of Dreams movie site in Dyersville will be adding on:

• 9 more baseball fields
• a hotel
• team dormitories
• an outdoor amphitheater
• 100,000 sq ft field house
• RV park
• jogging trails
• large park inclusive for kids and adults with disabilities

This will all happen over the course of about 3 years. As TV station KCRG reports, it's an $80 million expansion that's adding on nearly 100 acres to the movie site's already existing 190 acres. The new owners of the site, Go the Distance Baseball, LLC, bought the property last September. The hotel is expected to be completed in phases, done by the end of 2023. More of the additions, like the RV park and trails, will also be done in phases, expected to be completed by the end of 2025.

Go the Distance Baseball says that they plan to create a great place for baseball and softball but they also want to maintain the property as a working farm.

Of course, with new developments come new jobs. Go the Distance Baseball says the expansion will create about 170 new jobs equivalent to full-time.
