Have You Joined Iowa’s Walleye Challenge
'IOWA’S WALLEYE CHALLENGE: FISH ANYWHERE IN IOWA' is officially live, and many are excited to start fishing. This event still has over 30 days to go at the time of writing this and offers a great experience for those proud fishermen of Iowa.
What makes this so great for everyone is that this event is part of a state-wide research project to get a better sense of the walleye fishery across the state of Iowa. That and the prizes!
How It Works
The Iowa Walleye Challenge is an online tournament run through Angler’s Atlas website and their mobile app MyCatch. Anyone can participate in the Iowa Walleye Challenge and it is for all ages. There is a $25.00 registration fee to enter the tournament.

IOWA’s Walleye Challenge uses the MyCatch mobile app. Sign up with the QR code above. Once registered, you can use the app to take a picture of your walleye on a measuring board, and the we do the rest.
A Few Catch Reporting Rules
- This event is a virtual Catch-Photo-Release (CPR) event. Eligible species include only Walleye and Sauger.
- In order for each catch to qualify, a photograph of the fish on a measuring device must be taken using the MyCatch app (ie. photos cannot be uploaded from a photo gallery or other source).
- All contestants must have GPS/location services enabled on your cell phone for their catches to qualify. Your location data will be protected. For more information, see details below.

1st Fish: Two Night Cabin Stay at Jefferson County Park- Available Sunday through Thursday Nights.
1st Place Longest Walleye: $800
