This is the type of announcement that indicates the college football season isn't too far away.

On Monday, the Iowa athletic department announced sale dates for individual season tickets.

Sales to the general public will begin on Thursday, July 14, after members of the National I-Club and 2016 Iowa football season ticket holders have an opportunity to make single game purchases based on the following schedule:

Thursday, July 7 — Kinnick Gold and Kinnick Society members
Friday, July 8 — Champion and Golden Hawk members
Monday, July 11 — All other National I-Club donor levels
Tuesday, July 12 — 2016 season ticket holders who are not members of the National I-Club
Thursday, July 14 — General public

Three-game mini football packages will also be available for sale that week as well.

With the college football season around the corner, I chatted with HawkeyeReport's Tom Kakert mostly on summer recruiting.

Juan Harris is a player who has been in the limelight in recruiting. Harris announced earlier this month that he would de-commit for the third time. That's right — 3 times.

Harris is a three-star defensive tackle heading into his senior season, and has went back-and-forth on the Hawkeyes so often, I'm sure it's even leaving Kirk Ferentz confused.

High school kids are high school kids. After being around them on a regular basis with my other job (I'm a full-time assistant sports editor for the Clinton Herald), I realize how hard this decision can be.

Granted, most of them don't entail Division I programs (although we do have four D-1 rising freshmen in the Herald coverage area). Harris is under a big amount of pressure, and there are a few circumstances that he is dealing with. That's some stress I wouldn't want any high school student-athlete to have.

At the end of the day, Harris needs to make a decision whether it's with the Hawkeyes or not. He's only hurting his brand by not firmly making a choice.
