The Commissioner of the NFL just said something in the near future would be "Great for Chicago" What exactly is he talking about, and will it be great for Chicago?

According to an article from NBC Chicago, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell just said that building a new stadium OUTSIDE the city of Chicago would be "great" for the city. In the article, they say...

"Goodell also noted that Arlington Heights is hopeful the Bears would move there. “I think they’ll be able to develop a proposal that will be good for the fans, but I also think it will be great for Chicago,” Goodell added...Goodell went on to say that he had spoken to Mayor Brandon Johnson about the project, and hinted that the team is set on staying in the city. "The Bears are committed to being in Chicagoland," Goodell said. "I've talked to the Mayor of Chicago recently, he wants them in the city."

Would it be GREAT for Chicago?

As a born and raised Chicagoan, who is a DIE HARD Chicago Bears fan, I feel very strongly when I say that ANY new stadium in the city limits or in the suburbs would be great for the Chicagoland area as a whole. If the Bears have a new dome stadium in the city or in the suburbs the city will get to host a Super Bowl, it will host massive concerts, it will host events like Final Four games and College Football Playoff games, and all of those things would be great for the Chicagoland area. Would I prefer the Bears build a dome along the lakefront, yes, absolutely, but I don't know if it's possible to make that happen, the ball is in the city's court...
