The awesome things are sometimes waiting in the place you would least expect. That proved true for some auto experts who just found a rare 1958 Chevy Impala hiding inside of a barn in Illinois.

In m former life before I had a family, I was a car person. I even had a really nice stereo inside of my somewhat muscle car before I traded it for a family van with car seats. Don't even get me started. My point is that I know a thing or two about cars, but I'm nowhere near the level of Auto Archeology on YouTube who just shared a video short of what they found in an Illinois barn. It's a somewhat rare 1958 Chevy Impala buried under a bunch of trash.

The interior was in a terrible state of deterioration, but the biggest problem is the refuse on top of the car had broken the suspension.

The classic engine under the hood has seen better days, too.

The guy makes some interesting observations as he gives a short video walkthrough of this once-amazing vehicle.

How much is a 1958 Chevy Impala worth restored?

A restoration site estimates that a 1958 Chevy Impala in good condition would easily go for more than $60,000. The highest value sold at an auction was a staggering $247,000 three years ago. This is one of the reasons why you need to pay attention to old vehicles you find in a barn. Never know when you might have automotive gold in there.
