Our family went through Clorox Wipes like crazy during the height of the pandemic, and we've just kept on using them. Not to the degree we were when everyone was all freaked out and wiping down grocery bags, coats, shoes, and everything else that we figured would be harboring Covid-19, but we still keep them around.

Now, with the news last week from the Clorox company, finding Clorox Wipes here in Illinois, along with the rest of the nation, might be a bit on the tricky side.

Why? It can be broken down basically into two words: cyber attack.

It's Not Just Clorox Wipes That Will Be Tough To Find---Other Products Made By The Clorox Company Are Proving To Be Elusive To Shoppers

Maybe you've never used or planned to use Clorox Wipes, but if you're a consumer of Burt's Bees products, Tilex, or Glad Trash Bags, you may have noticed them being somewhat scarce on store shelves. Expect that to continue.

Clorox also makes Pine-Sol, Formula 409, Liquid-Plumr, Hidden Valley brand seasonings, Kingsford charcoal, Brita water filters, and Fresh Step cat litter.

Patch.com:

The Clorox Company said in a filing Monday with the Securities and Exchange Commission that it found “unauthorized activity” on some of its IT systems. The attack, announced Aug. 14, forced Clorox to take multiple systems offline and switch to manual ordering and processing procedures, reducing its rate of operations. Now it’s warning of a recent “elevated level of consumer product availability issues.”

From Clorox's SEC Filing of last week:

The Company expects to begin the process of transitioning back to normal automated order processing the week of Sept. 25. Clorox has already resumed production at the vast majority of its manufacturing sites and expects the ramp up to full production to occur over time. At this time, the Company cannot estimate how long it will take to resume fully normalized operations.
