Army or Navy? Rock Island Arsenal Hosting Fun Flag Football Game
For the 125th time, the Navy Midshipmen and the #22 Army Black Knights will face off in its annual college football game. In the history of this rivalry we all love because of, well, America, Navy is well ahead in the series with 62 wins to the Army's 55. There have been 7 ties in the series that date back to 1890.
Before the actual game on Saturday, Dec. 14th, 2024, right here in the Quad Cities you can watch a little preview that's fun and free for the entire family. There won't be any tackling but football will be played on the Rock Island Arsenal.
Come on out this Friday for the annual Army vs. Navy flag football game hosted by the Arsenal.
Arsenal Hosting Annual Army vs. Navy Flag Football Game
The Rock Island Arsenal invites everyone to come and enjoy the Rock Island Arsenal Army vs. Navy flag football game at Memorial Field on Friday, Dec. 13 for a little friendly competition.
Admission is free. Attendees are advised to bring lawn chairs for seating and dress according to the weather. Choose your side and cheer on these warriors of the gridiron as they physically participate in this time-honored tradition that pits these football adversaries against one another.
Activities begin at 11:30 a.m. when the food trucks start serving food until they run out. Game-time activities begin at 2 p.m.
This is not scheduled as a special event, spectators will be required to have or obtain a pass to access to the installation at the Visitor Welcome Center. The center is located at the Moline gate of the installation. You will need a Real ID (or two photo IDs) and knowledge of your social security number to obtain a pass good for a year.
Actual Navy vs. Army Game
Navy and #22 Army will kick off the 125th meeting of these two teams on Saturday, Dec. 14th, 2024.
Army won this game in 2023 beating Navy 17-11. Kick-off is at 2:00 PM on Saturday. The game will be played at Northwest Stadium in Landover, Md.
The game will be broadcast on CBS and Paramount+.
