Eastern Iowa Grocery Store Hosts Pet Challenge For Local Shelters
An event makes it easier to help the shelter animals.
Our local animal shelters are one of my all-time favorite charities to support. My pets are all adopted and I donate to the shelter when I'm able. Now, Hy-Vee has an event going on that makes it very easy for you to help puppies and kitties keep warm this winter.
The North Scott and Clinton Hy-Vees have kicked off this year's Betty White Challenge, in honor of the actress's love of animals and her advocacy.
It's really easy to do the challenge. Pick up an item to donate while you're shopping and drop it off in the donation box in the store. Both stores will have wish lists for both the Humane Society of Scott County and the Quad City Animal Welfare Center.
What They Need
The wish lists will be available at the Hy-Vees but here are the items that the shelters each need if you can pick one or two of them up at Hy-Vee:
And the QCAWC needs:
Donations can be made through January 15th.
The donation boxes will be either towards the front of the store or in the customer service area. If you'd like to help the pups and kitties out with just a cash donation, you can do that too. Cashiers will also be able to make a monetary donation on your behalf at checkout.
This is the 4th year that QCA Hy-Vees have done the pet challenge.
