If you have a pot roast meal from Hy-Vee, you'll want to check it.

Hy-Vee has issued a voluntary recall on two of it's Hy-Vee Mealtime Beef Pot Roast Dinners.

The recall is because of "an undeclared wheat allergen". According to a release from Hy-Vee, the gravy mix that was used in the pot roast meals produced between December 26th, 2022-January 17, 2023 contains a wheat allergen that wasn't listed on the label.

The meals were sent to Hy-Vee grocery stores, Hy-Vee Fast & Fresh, and Dollar Fresh Market stores across Iowa, Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota, Minnesota and Wisconsin. The release says that the meals come in either a small or medium plastic container with a clear lid and were available for purchase between Dec. 27, 2022, and Jan. 17, 2023.

Affected Products

Here are the two affected by the voluntary recall

  • ($5) Beef Pot Roast Dinner with Mashed Potatoes & Corn - 11.6 oz (327 g)
  • ($10) Beef Pot Roast Dinner with Mashed Potatoes & Carrots - 25.5 oz (723 g)

In the meantime, Hy-Vee has removed all affected Mealtime Beef Pot Roast Dinner Entrees from their shelves. If you have the product and you have a wheat sensitivity, you're advised to throw it away or you can return it to Hy-Vee for a full refund.

There have been no sicknesses reported from this recall, but if you think you might be sick from the meal, you should reach out to a healthcare provider.

If you have questions, you can contact Hy-Vee Customer Care at (800) 772-4098 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. CT Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
