The rankings are out for each state's favorite Halloween candy and Illinois's makes us wonder if it's time for a state slogan change.

Every year, CandyStore.com looks at each state's favorite Halloween candy and this year is no exception. It finds that candy corn is America's least favorite candy (on which I dissent thoroughly) but we all love Reese's cups (of course we do) since it's the overall number 1 favorite candy.

We're Pretty Much All Buying Candy

The study finds that 172 million Americans plan to celebrate Halloween and 95% of us are buying candy for it. We'll spend about $30 on average on Halloween candy and 50% of parents admit to stashing candy to enjoy later. We know. Pick out the Reese's cups.

Each state is different in what we like on Halloween. Oregon is apparently the place to go trick-or-treating since full-size candy bars are the norm there. (*books flight to Oregon*). There are a few outliers like some states prize salt water taffy and Hot Tamales above all others.

Illinois's Favorite Candy Is Sour Patch Kids

First, they're sour...then they're sweet. Is it Illinois's motto? Is Illinois really feeling this sour? For like 15 years? Illinois apparently loves their Sour Patch Kids. CandyStore.com found that, after looking at 15 years of bulk candy sales data, Sour Patch Kids are the top candy for Illinois. It's followed by Kit Kats in second and Starbursts in third.

I do love a good pink Starburst. Iowa, meanwhile, is 100% all-in on the chocolate.

On the overall list of America's fave Halloween candies, Reese's cups were followed by Skittles and M&M's came in third place.
