Live@Five Concert Series Moving To Rock Island For Two Weeks

Common Chord's Live@Five Block Party event will be in Rock Island this Friday night.

As road closures continue to be in place for the collapsed building at 324 Main in downtown Davenport, it is impacting businesses downtown. Common Chord's Live@Five Summer Concert Series will still have it's kickoff this Friday, June 2nd, but it will be going "on tour".

For June 2nd & June 9th, Live@Five will be at the Laborspace (311 21^st Street, by Rozz-Tox and Ragged Records) in downtown Rock Island. Starting June 16th, Live@Five will be back in the Skybridge Courtyard in downtown Davenport.

Live@Five Block Party

Besides the great music, the Block Party offers a range of activities for all ages. There will be free face painting and animal balloons for the littles and you can learn more about summer programs from community cultural partners from across the Quad Cities, like the Quad City Symphony Orchestra, Putnam Museum & Science Center, Figge Art Museum, Quad City Botanical Center, Quad City Arts, and more.

Common Chord also launched one of my favorite local arts projects last year: The OneSound Piano Project. These are the beautiful, colorful, artist-designed pianos scattered across the Quad Cities in places like Niabi Zoo, Freight House Farmers' Market, Quad City International Airport, and VanderVeer Botanical Park. I love seeing these around town!

The Live@Five concert series will run through September and will begin every Friday at 5:00 p.m. Outside drinks aren't allowed (you can buy some drinks there) and you're encouraged to bring lawn chairs. For the latest updates from Common Chord, follow them on Facebook.
