Make Christmas Day Bright For QC Kids With Davenport Police’s Toy Drive

This weekend, the Davenport Police Department has a great way you can help out local kids who really deserve a good Christmas.

On Saturday, December 10th & Sunday, December 11th, the police will host their 20th annual Christmas Toy Drive and Fundraiser. It will benefit kids and families who are involved in Family Resources Domestic Violence Shelters, Child Advocate Programs (victims of sex assaults and other at-risk programs), and supports the Family Resources Adopt a Family Program, according to a press release from the Davenport Police Department.

Where You Can Help

Bring new, unwrapped toys and/or a monetary donation (checks should be payable to Family Resources) to one of their collection sites:

  • Northpark Mall (by Firestone/JC Penney)
    • Saturday, Dec. 10 (9:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m.)
    • Sunday, Dec. 11 (10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.)
  • Chuck's Tap (1726 W. 6th St)
    • Saturday, Dec. 10 (8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.)

It's all going to a good cause. 100% of the proceeds from the event will go to help the kids and families in the Family Resources Programs. Chuck's Tap will be hosting a "Fill The Truck" event in conjunction with 7G and Coca-Cola, where you can make donations too to support the cause.

If you can, as you're out doing your Christmas shopping this weekend, buy an extra toy and take it to one of the drop-off locations for the toy drive to help out our local kids who really need a good Christmas. Davenport Police started hosting the toy drive in 2002, after Family Resources Offices were burglarized right before Christmas and toys and funds were stolen.
