If you want an opportunity to pop off about something, this may be for you.

We're back, yet again, to tell you about another project or initiative involving the word 'revitalization'. This time, it's in Rock Island.

The Martin Luther King Center is teaming up with Wholly Grinds, for part of the 'West End Revitalization' initiative. The project seeks to build up the "West End community’s wealth, power, and livability".

The initiative has a 3-year plan in place that began in 2024.

The new partnership with Wholly Grinds is for "Office Hours with West End Revitalization" and is open to the public to come weigh in on the project and talk directly to the intiative leadership. It will be on the third Wednesday of every month from 10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m.

You can share ideas, ask questions about the project, and learn more about what the plans are for the West End.

According to a press release from the Martin Luther King Center, the meetings hope to do the following:

  • "Open, informal conversations with the West End Revitalization team"
  • "Opportunities to share feedback and community ideas"
  • "Updates on neighborhood initiatives and projects"
  • "A relaxed, neighborhood setting that encourages connection"

If you want to stop by for one of the sessions, no RSVP is required. You're good to just stop by, grab a coffee, and talk about it.

If you need more info on it, you're asked to call this number: 309-732-2999.

You can get more details on the Martin Luther King Center on their website.
