For the second year in a row, community organizations will come together to provide wellness and health resources for people in the Quad Cities. Before more details get released, the Scott County Health Department is looking for community organizations to help provide needed health and resources to people who attend.

In a press release from Stuart Scott, the Community Health Interventionist with the Scott County Public Health Department, the Scott County Health Department is planning the 2nd Annual Health and Wellness Resource Fair at the Freight House Farmers Market on May 20th, from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m.

According to the press release, the purpose of the Health and Wellness Resource Fair is to provide ease of access to supportive Health and Wellness resources.  Additionally,  organizations will encourage and recruit individuals to be proactive about their health by participating in services offered by the various social service organizations present.

The Health and Wellness Resource Fair is open to the public and will have something for all ages including but not limited to:

  • Face painting
  • Health screenings
  • Housing resources
  • And other wellness activities!

The Scott County Public Health Department and organizations will also have trained professionals who will provide free, confidential health assessments coupled with appropriate referrals to care.

If you're an organization in the Quad Cities that wants to support this initiative by hosting a vendor table, assisting with outreach, and or assisting with securing resources, they are looking for vendors.
