Prom Dress Exchange

Chloe Birt, a Girl Scout working towards her bronze award, organized this event to ensure that every girl has the opportunity to feel beautiful and confident on her special night. "My friend wasn't able to afford dresses, so we bought some for her; that's the reason I did this prom closet," shared Chloe.

The Community Comes Together

The outpouring of support from the community was remarkable, with over 150 dresses and shoes collected to be distributed among attendees. The dresses, ranging in style and size, were gathered to cater to diverse preferences and body types, ensuring that every young woman could find something that resonated with her.

The impact of the prom dress giveaway extended far beyond the physical garments exchanged. For many attendees, it was a reaffirmation of their worth and a reminder that they are valued members of their community. As they twirled in front of mirrors, admiring their reflections in dresses that made them feel like royalty, smiles of gratitude and joy illuminated the room.

In total, 50 dresses found new homes that day, each one symbolizing a dream fulfilled and a memory in the making. The generosity and compassion displayed by Chloe Birt, the volunteers, and the community at large exemplify the spirit of Berwick—a place where kindness knows no bounds and where everyone is uplifted and supported.
