Cameraman on Benson Boone Tour Arrested in Florida After Peeing On Merchandise
A man working on pop singer Benson Boone’s tour was arrested in Clearwater after police say he urinated on nearly $700 worth of merchandise inside a Surf Style shop.
Clothing Damaged at Surf Style Store
According to investigators, 39-year-old Tyler Capehart entered the beachside store Thursday afternoon and headed up to the second floor. Employees monitoring security cameras reported seeing him standing between racks of clothing for several minutes.
When staff checked the area afterward, they discovered urine on the clothing and floor. The damaged items were valued at $689.30 and could not be sold, according to police.
Police Say Capehart Was Intoxicated
When confronted by officers, Capehart reportedly admitted to drinking alcohol and smoking marijuana earlier in the day. He told police he did not remember urinating inside the store.
Capehart was arrested on misdemeanor charges of criminal mischief and disorderly intoxication. He was taken to the county jail and later released after posting $650 bond.
Connection to Benson Boone Tour
Arrest records list Capehart’s employer as “Benson Boone,” though it appears he works behind the scenes as a camera operator for a production company that films Boone’s concerts. His name has been spotted in credits that roll after performances on the singer’s current tour.
Capehart’s arrest came just one day before Boone’s American Heart World Tour was scheduled to make a stop in Tampa at Benchmark International Arena.
What Happens Next
No further details have been released about whether Capehart will continue traveling with the tour. For now, he faces misdemeanor charges in Florida related to the incident at the Clearwater Surf Style store.
