What started as a simple shoe sale in Aventura quickly turned into a frightening situation, according to police.

Unusual Meeting Turns Dangerous

A woman, who asked not to be identified, told investigators she met 28-year-old Elmoncy Sercle at the Serena Hotel on Sunday afternoon to sell him a pair of used sneakers.

Instead of completing the purchase, the woman said Sercle made a disturbing request. “When I got there, he just wanted to sniff my feet, and I didn’t feel comfortable with that,” she said. She explained that while she had no issue with him buying the sneakers, the request went far beyond what she expected.

Confrontation in the Parking Lot

The woman said Sercle ran out of the hotel room with what she believed were her shoes. She chased him into the parking lot, where the situation escalated. According to her account, Sercle got into his SUV, made a three-point turn, and struck her with the vehicle.

“He actually hit me with the car, ran me over,” she said. “By the grace of God, I’m still standing today.”

The woman described the incident as both terrifying and bizarre. While she admitted she has encountered people with unusual interests before, she said she had never experienced anything as extreme as this.

Suspect Faces Serious Charges

Police later arrested Sercle on a charge of aggravated battery. Investigators revealed that this is not the first time Sercle has been connected to strange incidents involving similar behavior.

Authorities are reviewing additional reports and working to obtain hotel surveillance footage that may provide further evidence of the confrontation.

For the victim, the ordeal was an experience she said she will never forget. “It was scary and extremely bizarre,” she said.
