Tucked away where most Minnesotans would never think to look, a hidden waterfall has just revealed its breathtaking beauty to the lens of a talented photographer. The result is a glimpse of nature so stunning, it feels less like Minnesota and more like a secret world waiting to be discovered.

Minnesota may be the Land of 10,000 Lakes, but we're also home to some stunning waterfalls. In fact, according to data from the World Waterfall Database, Minnesota has around 133 named waterfalls, though most of them aren't located in any of those 10,000 Lakes.

Discover Minnesota’s Hidden Waterfalls Off the Beaten Path

Most of Minnesota's gorgeous waterfalls can be found concentrated along the North Shore of Lake Superior, in scenic state parks like Gooseberry Falls, Tettegouche, and Cascade River, as well as in the Boundary Waters and southeastern bluff country.

In fact, here's a stunning waterfall my wife and I ran across when we were hiking through Cascade River State Park along Minnesota's North Shore a few years ago:

And, of course, waterfalls aren't limited solely to the North Star State. On another hiking trip a few years ago, my wife and I ran across this impressive waterfall, located in Pattison State Park, just outside Superior, behind the Cheddar Curtain over in my home state of Wisconsin:

Meet the Photographer Capturing One of Minnesota’s Secret Waterfalls

Now, while those waterfalls certainly are scenic, they're both located in well-known state parks. But *this* waterfall was just documented by the incredible Minnesota photographer, Nathan Klok, earlier this summer.

According to his Facebook page, Nathan Klok is 'a landscape, cityscape, and night sky photographer based out of the Minneapolis-St. Paul area.' And whether he's capturing scenes of the North Shore, the State Fair, massive planes taking off at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport or urban scenes of Minneapolis, his photos and drone videos are simply incredible!

Especially his video of the following stunning hidden waterfall, which Nathan's post says is located along Minnesota's North Shore, but is only visible from the air or water. Nathan posted the amazing video on his Facebook page:

How to Explore Minnesota Waterfalls Safely This Fall

That video, as well as a still photo of the same amazing waterfall, apparently led some people online to behave poorly — shocking, I know — demanding that Nathan reveal the location of the waterfall. He addressed that issue in another post, saying that 'Due to the hazardous nature of reaching this specific waterfall, I withheld the location of the waterfall to those who reached out,' his post said.
