These explorers in Chicago discovered one of the coolest underground cities in Illinois and the video footage is crazy to see.

Chicago has always been a city just full of surprises, but I think this one tops them all.

Imagine walking down the street and accidentally falling into an underground fallout shelter below the city of Chicago.  It's possible and these guys in Chicago, supposedly, found one to explore.

I didn't know what an underground fallout shelter was and you might not either.  Let's find out together, shall we?

A Fallout Shelter:

"A fallout shelter is an enclosed space specially designated to protect occupants from radioactive debris or fallout resulting from a nuclear explosion." [Wiki]

I watched this video at least three times because I can't figure out if this is real.  Half the comments are natives saying they know about these shelters, but others are saying the entire video is fake.

What makes me question it even more is the original video got deleted by the explorer, but another TikToker saved the footage.

Whether this footage is real or not, it really got me thinking about everything in life.

I'm sitting in my bedroom just wondering if life is happening right below me and I have no idea.  Very weird to think about that... am I wrong?

It's still really cool that these guys explored this place, wherever it's actually at haha.
