When it comes to being a season ticket holder for a professional sports team, I have some serious experience. My family has owned seats at Soldier Field for the Chicago Bears since 1982. I've seen a lot through the years.
Green Bay Packers Forcing Season Ticket Rule
Owning season tickets for a pro sports team is a huge financial investment and they get more expensive every year. You have to be really careful because if you make a bad decision, the team has the right to take away your tickets forever.

As a season ticket holder, you're responsible for who sits in your seats. If you sell your tickets to some random person on the internet and they act like jerks, you can lose your passes. Even if you're not there.
Some season ticket holders just have the seats so they can sell them for a profit. They never even go to the games. That disappoints me because many people would love to own them but never get the opportunity, and these people don't use the tickets.

The Green Bay Packers are a very popular team. Many of the tickets have been in families for generations. It's hard to get tickets unless you pay an outrageous amount on the secondary market.
The team is enforcing an old rule. They are revoking seats from season ticket holders if they have sold their tickets for a profit every year, without going to a game for several years. I love the idea. If you're not gonna go ever, then you shouldn't have tickets.
According to WTMJ in Wisconsin, "The Green Bay Packers announced they are enforcing their “non-renewal” exercise, a policy aimed at making sure season tickets are used as intended and not to make a profit."
