Between work and hanging out with friends, I've spent a lot of time in bars throughout my life. Back in the day, it was all about getting as drunk as possible for the least amount of money. I'm glad those days are over.

There are only three real reasons why I go out to bars anymore. Number one is for a radio station promotion. The second way is to see live entertainment, usually bands or comedians. Finally, to check out a game.

In all those situations, there has always been at least one TV in the bar so I can check on the scores of my favorite team. I can't even imagine a tavern without television. The sound is usually turned down but you can still see the screen.

I've talked to a few bands about playing bars. Pretty much all of them have said that they much rather play a club without TVs but it's almost impossible to find. That way the fans are watching them and not the game.
