The Future Of Rock Is On Display At The QC Rock Academy Free Summer Kickoff Concert

The future of rock is bright in the Quad Cities.  Over the years we've seen bands literally grow up and do great things right before our eyes.  With the addition of more live music venues, production companies, and schools to teach the next generation, we'll be enjoying live music for many more years to come.

The QC Rock Academy is teaching many of those future rockers and will be showcasing their talents at their Summer Kickoff Concert at Schwiebert Riverfront Park in Rock Island.

For over 10 years, the QC Rock Academy has been teaching many kids how to play and love music. Bands like btdt (Been There Done That) (above) have learned together, grown together, and taken their passion for music further past the academy.

And the QC Rock Academy continues to produce star musicians.  One current student, Samantha Medina is currently in a national "Hit Like A Girl" competition against other drummers.

Schwiebert Riverfront Park

The park is located on 1st and 17th Street in Rock Island with plenty of parking at the park or across the street between 17th and 18th.

The park has a perfect bandshell and grass to enjoy the show. Plus, there is playground equipment on the other side of the park for the little ones to burn some energy.

While there, the Rock Island Parks Department will be grilling up food, plus there will be drinks on site for those looking to enjoy an adult beverage.
