Discover New Music: Black Satellite in the I-Rock 93.5 Live Lounge.

The I-Rock 93.5 Live Lounge continues to bring more bands for you to get exclusive performances and interviews like never before.

We've had Wage War, Underoath, and more are on the way.  Sometimes the bands will be ones you know.  Other times it will be a place for you to discover new bands and new music with an exclusive performance.  That was the case Friday, April 29 when the up-and-coming band "Black Satellite" stopped in to hang out with the station and some lucky listeners.

Who is Black Satellite?

Black Satellite is a rock duo from NYC with Larissa Vale on vocals and Kyle Hawken on guitar.  Larissa told I-Rock 93.5 they knew each other in High School but started writing music in college around 6 years ago.

Shortly after launching their first single Valkyrie from their full-length album Endless, Black Satellite was requested as support for Starset at NYC’s Gramercy Theatre on the strength of their debut.   Black Satellite was also named one of Alternative Press’ “12 Bands You Need To Know” in a print issue of the magazine.

Their new single Void (which they played live for us below) is the first taste of the brand-new album.

Black Satellite recently completed back-to-back tours as direct support for John 5, Fozzy, and Nita Strauss.  They also toured supporting Cold and Sumo Cyco as well as Drowning Pool in the fall of 2022.

Hitting the road to promote themselves.

So while they are no stranger to the road the way they are hitting the road right now is something very different.  Most bands will put out the song, do the tour, then maybe visit radio stations that happen to be in the city.  Black Satellite is currently on a radio tour.  As in, they are driving across the country stopping at radio stations to play and talk with the listeners.

As the radio guy...that was just cool and the first thing I wanted to talk with them about.  Because it just continues to show the power, reach, and influence of radio.
