Thank you for making it another great year of rock for I-Rock 93.5 in the Quad Cities. You listened at home, at work, in the car. On your radio, on the app, streaming on your computer, and smart speaker. Wherever and however it was, thank you!
With all that listening, do you already know what song was played the most this year? You can scroll through the Top 69 most played songs of the year here, or you can slowly follow along with them as we play them back on Monday (12/29) from 10:00-3:00, Tuesday (12/30) from 3:00-8:00 or on New Year's Eve from 7:00-12:00.
Take A Trip Back: The Top 69 Songs of 2021(ish)
Why The Top 69 Songs?
Well, cause it's funny. And also, it's about how many songs we can fit into 5 hours.
The top 69 songs are not based on national airplay. This is 100% what we played on I-Rock 93.5. Some of the songs below may have been hot at the start of the year and then faded. Or they were just released in the last couple of months. Or they have been rocking hard all year. We count all of them and then bring you the Top 69.
The Top 69 of 2025 on I-Rock 93.5
69 - Autumn Kings - Hellbound
It was great having the guys from Autumn Kings in the I-Rock Live Lounge to chat and play some songs for us. This could be one of those breakthrough bands in 2026. You can listen to the full interview and performance with the guys here.
68 - The Devil Wears Prada - For You
67 - The Haunt - Bad Omen
It was great to play the song for you leading up to the sold-out Stuff It & Scream show. This is another band that is quickly on the rise and could break out more in 2026. Check out pics from that awesome night with The Haunt here.
66 - Daughtry - The Bottom
65 - Volbeat - Time Will Heal
Some songs come in quickly...and leave quickly, never to be heard again.
64 - Scott Stapp - Black Butterfly
63 - The Haunt - Masochistic Lovers
I mean, one more picture, cause why not? Masochistic Lovers was their first single of the year, which was played and then played more, leading up to the show.
62- Underoath - All The Love Is Gone
61 - Poppy - New Way Out
60 - Mammoth - The Spell
A late 2025 release at the end of September gives Mammoth enough time to slide into the Top 69. We'll hear more of this one in 2026 and even more in general from Mammoth as they continue to carry on the guitar shredding legacy.
59 - Deftones - infinite source
58 - Starset - TokSik
57 - Avatar - Tonight We Must Be Warriors
It's a fun song from a great band. When you think they know what they are going to do, they do something else. Another late-in-the-year release that we'll hear plenty more of in 2026.
56 - Set It Off - Rotten
55 - Autumn Kings - Sleep When I'm Dead
Take A Trip Back: The Top 69 Songs of 2022
54 - Scott Stapp - Deadman's Trigger
53 - Three Days Grace - Apologies
The Adam and Matt version of Three Days Grace will continue in 2026. I mean, we're already giving you tickets for a show with them in November. Although this one kind of just sputtered along in the middle of the year. Never sure why bands put out slow-tempo songs in summer.
52 - Dead Poet Society - Hurt
51 - Daughtry - The Dam
50 - Nothing More - Freefall
49 - Mudvayne - Sticks and Stones
Mudvayne doesn't get the same amount of play around the country as we give them here, but they are local-ish, and this is a good song. Happy to have new stuff from Mudvayne.
48 - Avatar - Captain Goat
47 - Sleep Token - Caramel
Loud noises! For some of you, it feels like this is the most played song cause you hate it so much. For others, it was actually your most played song cause you love it so much. A band that is doing things differently to stir up emotions works well.
46 - Poppy, Amy Lee, Courtney LaPlante - End Of You
45 - Memphis May Fire - Hell Is Empty
44 - Hollywood Undead - Hollywood Forever
43 - Ghost - Satanized
Another controversial band, as some love them, and some laugh that he is out there throwing first pitches at White Sox games. Either way, their first new release of the year went strong for a couple of months to get them in the Top 69
42 - Falling In Reverse - Bad Guy
41 - Limp Bizkit - Making Love To Morgan Wallen
It's always a good year for rock when we get new stuff from Limp Bizkit. Did you know the original name of this song was "Making Love to Steven Tyler in an Elevator"? However, the band decided that the younger fans might not understand that reference.
40 - Falling In Reverse - God Is A Weapon
39 - Of Mice And Men - Wake Up
38 - Nevertel - Criminal
37 - Sleep Theory - Stuck In My Head
It's very fitting that Nevertel and Sleep Theory are next to each other on the countdown. "Stuck In My Head" was released early in 2025, but was played a bunch leading up to the show. Criminal came out in June, just in time to play it a lot leading up to 6 Freakin Years of Hard Rock. Check out the pictures here.
36 - Deftones - My Mind Is A Mountain
35 - Bad Omens - Specter
34 - Seether - Walls Come Down
33 - Mammoth - The End
32 - The Pretty Reckless - For I Am Death
This one came out in August...after we had them at The Rust Belt. So I guess that means we'll have to get them back in town to hear the new one live.
31 - Hollywood Undead - Savior
This song came out in June, and the first time I heard it, I thought, "This is fine". But the more I heard it, the more I liked it and wanted to hear it. One of my favorite songs of the year.
30 - The Funeral Portrait - Dark Thoughts
29 - Linkin Park - Up From The Bottom
28 - Bush - The Land of Milk And Honey
27 - Linkin Park - Heavy Is The Crown
The song actually came out in late 2024, but played enough early in the year that it made it to number 27. This is my favorite of the new Linkin Park songs. Other than Two Faced...but the band never pushed that one.
26 - 10 Years - The Optimist
25 - Sleep Token - Emergence
More loud noises!
Look Back More: The Top 69 Songs of 2023 On I-Rock 93.5
24 - Nine Inch Nails - As Alive As You Need Me To Be
23 - Papa Roach - Braindead
22 - Poppy - The Cost Of Giving Up
21 - I Prevail - Into Hell
20 - Spiritbox - Perfect Soul
We've made it to the top 20! You might have forgotten how big this song was. It was released in late 2024 and then just kept growing and getting bigger through the early part of 2025. Definitely a huge year for Spiritbox.
19 - Breaking Benjamin - Awaken
18 - Ghost - Lachryma
17 - Wage War - Blur
Another one of those late in 2024 releases that rolled strong in the early part of 2025, as we see our friends capture another top 5 nationwide hit.
16 - Three Days Grace - Mayday
15 - A Day To Remember - All My Friends
You called it the number 1 song of the year when you voted in the Top 9 @ 9. The song was released in March, but it really started gaining traction in April. Then it was the perfect song for the summer, and really, anytime you want to head out with friends.
14 - Volbeat - By A Monster's Hand
13 - Ice Nine Kills - The Great Unknown
Lucky 13 is fitting for Ice Nine Kills. Released just before they rocked The Rust Belt, this song is still going strong at the top of the charts.
12 - Shinedown - Dance, Kid, Dance
11 - The Funeral Portrait - Holy Water
From that same show with INK, The Funeral Portrait is the breakout band of 2025. It was great to have them in the studio with us before the show. You can check out that interview here.
10 - Chevelle - Rabbit Hole (Cowards Pt. 1)
9 - Sleep Theory - Static
8 - Evanescence - Afterlife
7 - Nothing More - House On Sand
The defending Top 69 Champions...will not repeat. Although this is also one of my favorite songs of the year, House on Sand comes in at number 7 this year after they had the top spot in 2024.
Take A Look Back: The Top 69 of 2024 on I-Rock 93.5
6 - Disturbed - I Will Not Break
5 - Papa Roach - Even If It Kills Me
The coveted Top 5 of the Top 69! Papa Roach dropped this one in January. Jacoby visited us in February. We kept it cranking all year long. Listen to the interview with Jacoby here.
4 - Pop Evil - Wishful Thinking
Another good one that also came out in February and kept growing and growing...and then, with them coming to the Mississippi Valley Fair, we kept playing it to get us ready for the show.
3 - Killswitch Engage - I Believe
The band's first song to break the top 5 of the Main Rock chart. And number 3 on the I-Rock 93.5 Top 69...clearly that is the highlight for them with this song.
2 - Dayseeker - Pale Moonlight
One more from the show of the year. This one dropped in April and was played hard leading up to the show in August. But the song was still hot after the show, so we kept playing it, getting it all the way up to number 2 in the Top 69!
1 - Architects - Everything Ends
That is a really old photo of the band...feels like we should do something to get a new one.
Maybe this will help...Congratulations to Architects! Not only was it their first #1 on the US Main Rock Charts, but more importantly, it's Number 1 of the Top 69 on I-Rock 93.5! The song was released in February and was one I got on quickly cause they are a great band, and it's a great song. Happy to be a small part of their number 1 success!
That is the I-Rock 93.5 Top 69 Most Played Songs of 2025. Hope you enjoyed reading, reliving, and hopefully listening to all of them.
Who will take the top spot in 2026? Probably something that you'll first hear in the first few months of the year. So keep it loud, keep it hard, and keep it with I-Rock 93.5.
