Before Underoath took the stage for a rowdy crowd at The Rust Belt in East Moline they came to the Rock and Roll Mansion and unplugged for an exclusive interview and performance.

Below you can hear how they can take intense songs like "Let Go" and "Rapture" and strip them down to their basic elements to be able to perform them with just a couple of acoustic guitars.

Underoath Rocked The Rust Belt

Friday, March 10 we rocked the Rust Belt with Loathe, Periphery, and Underoath.  All three bands brought their own unique sound and style to the stage.  But all three bands got the crowd going.

It was awesome to hear Underoath going so hard and getting the circle pit going (which you can see on our Instagram page) knowing that just hours earlier they were just chilling like a couple of dudes at a coffee shop.

With 95% of the show fast, loud, and hard, it's always cool to see The Rust Belt light up when the band wants it.

Spencer did more than just ask for some lights.  He got right in with the crowd.  Moments after the below pic, he just dove right in for some crowd surfing.

Aaron and Spencer came in to talk and play for the station, and the exclusive I-Rock 93.5 listeners.  All 10 of them.  Yeah, we don't have a big area. So just know when we do these in the future they will be very exclusive for you.  But I need to get the lighting adjusted so it doesn't feel like an office.

We talked about new music, old music, touring, brotherly love/hate, who they'd love to do a collab with, and much more.  The listeners asked questions and they just talked and talked.  This was awesome cause sometimes it's like pulling teeth on these interviews.  But not this one!

In the middle of the conversation, Spencer and Aaron played us a couple of songs.  The first one (around 4 minutes in) was their new song "Let Go".  The guys said it was the first time they ever performed the song acoustic for anybody.  And they did it, right here in the Quad Cities.

The second song, Rapture, was the song they performed on the last radio tour.  Both of them sounded great, and both were recorded for you by Pieler Productions who did an awesome job mixing the audio for you to enjoy below.
