John Deere Classic Betting Favorites and More
208 amateur golfers from the Quad Cities and further gathered to play golf in a foursome along with 2 PGA golfers. Each foursome was assigned a professional golfer for the front nine at TPC Deere Run and then they were joined by a new PGA Tour golfer on the back nine.
208 individuals paid $4,700 to dress dorky and play poorly. But I am sure they had the time of their lives. Or, at least they looked like it. Every golfer that I saw on Wednesday had a smile on their face.
One guy managed to get a hole in one on hole #7. He must have been really excited.
I have never attended a Pro-Am before and have only been to one John Deere Classic and that was in 2019, so I really did not have a ton of expectations for attendance. But it seemed low. There are not too many restrictions due to the global pandemic but there are a few noticeable changes-- most importantly the luxury suites on hole #18 that previously were enclosed and air conditioned. Now they are wide open and only one level.
I am really hoping to see some more Quad City faces tomorrow, along with some great golf.
Speaking of golf... let's make some money!
OUR FRIENDS AT ELITESPORTSBOOK HAVE SOME GREAT ODDS FOR YOU TO GAMBLE ON AND WE ARE HERE TO POINT SOME OUT TO YOU...
There are 4 different ways that you can bet on the JDC at EliteSportsbook.com
- Bet the outright winner CLICK HERE
- Bet tournament matchups CLICK HERE
- Bet round matchups CLICK HERE
- Bet to make the cut CLICK HERE
HERE ARE SOME BETS THAT WE LIKE...
Daniel Berger (5th in 2017) is the favorite to win at +1200. The rest of the Top 5 based on betting favorites to win are Sungjae Im +1400, Brian Harman +1600 (first PGA Tour was at JDC in 2014), Russell Henley +1600 (runner up at JDC in 2019), and Seamus Power +2500.
On the outside looking in is Kevin Streelman at +2600. I feel good about this bet. In only 8 career starts, he has 3 Top-10 finishes.
I am also pulling for a Zack Johnson +3000 win. The Cedar Rapids native is in his backyard. Although he has not won at TPC Deere Run since 2012, he has 4 Top-5 finishes in his past seven trips to Silvis.
And finally, 3 time winner Steve Stricker +5000 can not be counted out. He won the event 3 straight years in 2009, 2010, and 2011.
We also like a "To Make The Cut" parlay. We put in...
- Zach Johnson
- Daniel Berger
- Sungjae Im
- Brian Harman
- Russell Henley
- Kevin Streelman
in a 6 leg parlay to make the cut at +378. So a $100 investment in 6 guys we feel strongly to make the cut in a not too impressive field will return $378.
