John Mulaney Bringing Comedy Tour To Davenport In July
One of the most popular comics right now is coming to the Quad Cities this summer. John Mulaney, who is known for many of his stand-up specials and for writing and hosting Saturday Night Live, will be coming to the Adler Theatre in downtown Davenport in July.
On Tuesday, the Adler Theatre announced that two-time Emmy and Writers Guild of America award-winning writer, actor, and comedian, John Mulaney, is bringing his 2022 comedy tour to Davenport with tickets for the show going on sale this week.
Mulaney, 39, is from Chicago and since 2012, has become "one of the best stand-up comics alive," according to Ken Tucker of Entertainment Weekly.
Mulaney toured the U.S. in 2018 for his sold-out Kid Gorgeous tour, which was later released as a Netflix stand-up special. That special won the Emmy for Outstanding Writing in a Variety Special. He also released The Comeback Kid, also a Netflix original in 2015.
Quickly, Mulaney gained a big following and has been invited to host Saturday Night Live five times, where he began writing for Saturday Night Live in 2008. Characters like ‘Stefon', played by Bill Hader and appeared as a “Weekend Update” correspondent, was created by Mulaney.
Mulaney's resume goes on and on. Soon, he can add a 2022 tour to that resume.
John will hit the road in May for the John Mulaney: From Scratch 2022 Tour. The tour will begin at the Hollywood Bowl on May 7th and finish at University Park, PA in September. Mulaney will also make a stop in Davenport this July.
John Mulaney will be at the Adler Theatre on Sunday, July 24th. Tickets for the show at the Adler Theatre go on sale this Friday, April 8th, at 10 a.m. The show on April 24th begins at 7 p.m.
This show will be a phone-free experience, according to the Adler Theatre. The use of phones will not be permitted in the performance space. You can find more details here.
