Former Iowa Hawkeye basketball great Luka Garza doesn't have anything left to prove to college fans. He won nearly every national player of the year award during his outstanding senior season. But Garza isn't resting on those laurels headed into the NBA Draft. He knows there is more work to be done to silence the people who don't believe his game will translate at the next level.

247 Sports reports that Garza has been working non-stop since leaving Iowa. According to his father Frank, Luka has lost 22 pounds in an effort to gain quickness to play in the NBA. Personally, I always wondered how Garza would play a few pounds lighter when he was at Iowa. But Luka had to withstand the pounding of a Big Ten schedule. Bigs like Garza, who is listed at 6'11'', have to be able to move quick laterally and keep up with a quicker pace.

So where is Garza likely to go in the July 29th NBA Draft? Most sources have him listed as a second round draft choice. So far no NBA team has listed Garza as a potential first round draft choice. But if you ask Garza, that's OK. 247 Sports reports that Garza has been hearing that his whole career. Garza says he's for the doubters. He says "hopefully I can prove them wrong."

One team that is reportedly interested in Garza as a second round pick, is the Indiana Pacers. We'll have to see what happens on draft night!
