Sometimes it's nice to enjoy Halloween without getting your socks scared off, especially when you have children. For the past 7 years, the Quad City Botanical Center in Rock Island has given families a chance to do that with their event, Not So Scary Halloween Walk. Starting this week, member and non-members can bring their littles to the center for some Halloween fun.

In a press release on Tuesday, the Quad City Botanical Center (2525 4th Avenue, Rock Island) announced details for its 7th annual Not So Scary Halloween Walk.

Officials invite families to dress up their little ghosts and goblins for a “Not So Scary” lighted walk through the gardens after dark. Make sure you bring your flashlights and explore the nooks and crannies of the Sun Garden to search for spiders, bats, jack-o-lanterns, and toads as you wander down the darkened pathways.

Kiddos will be able to get a glimpse of the Halloween train in the Quad City Botanical Center's popular train garden. It’s not so scary in the gardens, making this event great for all ages.

The walk takes place both indoors and outdoors at the Quad City Botanical Center. Officials remind visitors to please dress according to the weather and for a walk across the lawn.

Plus, children take home a goodie bag after the fun, so leave your trick-or-treat buckets at home.
