The Hand Sanitizers I Just Bought Were Recalled… Is Yours?
Last week the U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced that Best Brands Consumer Products, Inc. issued a voluntary recall of the two products. Many including myself were surprised to see this.
The recall included the select hand sanitizers marketed with Mickey Mouse and “The Mandalorian.” Primarily "Baby Yoda." Imagine my surprise. I had just bought two of these last week at Walmart. I have never had anything federally recalled before.
According to KCRG, The FDA reported it found the presence of benzene in “The Mandalorian” hand sanitizer product. That's the one I had bought. Methanol was reportedly found in the Mickey Mouse hand sanitizer.
I only used it a few times, but I'm glad I heard about the recall!

The FDA also said that substantial exposure to methanol can result in nausea, vomiting, blurred vision, and possible death. KCRG reported,
According to the FDA, Best Brands imported these products, which were produced by a third-party manufacturer.
I bought my hand sanitizer in the Walmart clearance aisle. There were a ton of these, so odds are a lot of people picked these up. They were only $1 at the time. Make sure you check in with Star Wars, and Disney fans. They may have bought these for the fun and cute designs.

This is the first thing I've ever had recalled that I own. A very weird feeling! Thankfully overall I don't feel sick or feel any side effects right now.
