There Is No Way This Is The Most Popular Cheese In Wisconsin
People in Wisconsin are cheese experts. Yes, all of them. They are connoisseurs of everything from aged cheddar to Cheeze Whiz. Wisconsin is cheese.
I am right there with them. Cause, I eat a lot of cheese. So when I saw this about the most popular cheese in every U.S. State my mouth dropped. And not in a "my mouth is open 'cause I'm putting cheese in it" way. In a "that can't be right" way.
Wisconsin Is The Cheese Capital
In 2023 Wisconsin produced 3.51 billion pounds of cheese. That is 25% of the nation's total cheese production.
It's not just a slogan on the license plate. It's not just a fashion statement at a Packers game. The state embraces it and does it better than anyone else.
What Is The Most Popular Cheese In Wisconsin?
I mean really, it should be cheese curds. Go anywhere else in the country and if...and that's a big if...you can find them they just won't be the same.
So when I saw this graphic from The Wagyu Shop I thought "What the what is this?".
Oh...wait a minute. Look at the fine print. "Based on Google Searches". OK, that makes more sense. Because people in Wisconsin know cheese and don't need to Google it, so they must be looking up Limburger because they know everything about every other type of good cheese.
