As fate would have it, the upcoming matchup between the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVII on Sunday, February 12th will have some Dubuque representation in a heartwarming way!

18-year-old Matt of Dubuque, IA will be going to the Super Bowl in Glendale, Arizona thanks to Make-A-Wish Iowa. The nonprofit announced last week that Matt, who underwent a liver transplant, will join 16 others from 15 different states on a trip to Glendale to see the marquee matchup.

Ahead of the game, the 17 attendees will be able to partake in a plethora of events. In particular, Matt will get a chance to meet other Make-A-Wish kids and their families, and he'll even get to meet some of the NFL stars on the red carpet at the NFL Honors event on Thursday, February 9th.

Matt will also get a private tour of State Farm Stadium, where Super Bowl LVII will be played. State Farm Stadium is the home of the Arizona Cardinals, but the stage is set for the NFL's two best teams, the Eagles and Chiefs, to play the biggest game of the year.

Per a press release, Make-A-Wish Iowa CEO Sara Kurovski offered some kind words about Matt and the other teens that are going on this trip this year:

The Super Bowl is already one of the most anticipated days of the year, but it means even more to our staff, volunteers and supporters who understand the life-changing impact of the wishes being granted at the game. For Matt, we hope that the trip provides him with the strength and inspiration needed to face whatever challenges come his way.
