U.S. News & World Report released its list of 2022-2023's top 150 places to live in the United States. To determine who could make this list, U.S. News & World Report looked at the 150 most populous metro areas to find the best places to live.
The way a place could make it high on the place, U.S. News & World Report said it had to have good value, be a desirable place to live, have a strong job market and a high quality of life.
For U.S. News & World Report to create its list of Best Places to Live, the metro areas in the list were evaluated using data from sources including
- U.S. Census Bureau
- The FBI
- The U.S. Department of Labor
- U.S. News' internal resources.
The data collected for U.S. News was categorized into the five indexes listed here and evaluated using a methodology determined by Americans' preferences. U.S. News says the percentage weighting for each index follows the answers from a March 2022 public survey. That survey gave people throughout the country an opportunity to vote for what they thought was the most important factor to consider when it came to choosing where to live.
After analyzing the data and crunching the numbers, this is where the Quad Cities landed on U.S. News & World Report's Best Places to Live:
