Whenever there is a major soccer tournament, the media will, immediately following the draw, crown a “Group of Death”.

To be placed in this group was usually a death sentence for one of the teams, as only two of the four teams used to advance into the knockout stages.

But that is not the case at the 2020 UEFA European Championship (Euro 2020): 16 of the 24 teams will move into the Round of 16, which means four third place teams will join the first and second place teams advancing.

At the Euro 2020, Group F is the so-called “Group of Death”, because it has three of the top 12 teams in the world. And not just any three teams: basically, it is the three countries that are awash in silverware over the last decade.

France (2018 World Cup champions), Portugal (Euro 2016 and Nations League 2019 winners), and Germany (2014 World Cup champions) join Hungary as the Group F teams, and the top three should battle for supremacy.

But will they?

Could two of the teams be better plays than the other big side?

Here is a look at all the odds for Group F, and the odds for Matchday 1 on June 15.

Euro 2020 Group F Matchday 1 odds by gambling experts

June 15

Hungary (+525) vs. Portugal (-165), draw (+285), 12 p.m EDT (ESPN and Fubo.TV)
France (+165) vs. Germany (+185), draw (+220), 3 p.m. EDT (ESPN and Fubo.TV)

Matchday-1 Predictions

Portugal ML, France ML

Odds to win UEFA Euro 2020 Group F

  • France +140
  • Germany +165
  • Portugal +250
  • Hungary +3500

Odds to qualify for knockout stage

  •  France -1000
  • Germany -1000
  • Portugal -300
  • Hungary +500

With all of these odds, plus the fact that France has now become the favorite to win the tournament ahead of England, Les Bleus might be the play here to win Group F.

You can get them at plus-money, and also get your winnings (if they top the group, of course) two weeks earlier than you would if they go on to win the tournament.

If you are looking for some value to bet, I would look at Portugal to win the group (odds of +250) along with France, and throw out the Germans.

I would also throw some money on France to beat Germany on Matchday 1, and maybe place a parlay with France and Portugal to both win the opening game on June 15.

All three teams should advance to the knockout stages, and most paths to the final look pretty tough at this point.

LOOK: Here are the 50 best beach towns in America

Every beach town has its share of pluses and minuses, which got us thinking about what makes a beach town the best one to live in. To find out, Stacker consulted data from WalletHub, released June 17, 2020, that compares U.S. beach towns. Ratings are based on six categories: affordability, weather, safety, economy, education and health, and quality of life. The cities ranged in population from 10,000 to 150,000, but they had to have at least one local beach listed on TripAdvisor. Read the full methodology here. From those rankings, we selected the top 50. Readers who live in California and Florida will be unsurprised to learn that many of towns featured here are in one of those two states.

Keep reading to see if your favorite beach town made the cut.
