Iowa high school and Illinois high school basketball programs will meet on Saturday in Rock Island at the Carver Physical Education Center on the Augustana Campus.  Play begins at 10:00 AM and admission is just $5 for the entire day.

The Quad City Times and Matt Coss did a great job with a full preview of the 26th annual event.  Last year, the Iowa side had a clean sweep of the games.  Iowa leads the all-time series 12-11-2 while Illinois has a 73-70 advantage in games won.

Here are the final score predictions from our show "Don't Hassle Us We're Local":

Davenport West Falcons (0-1) VS Rock Island Alleman Pioneers (1-6)

Alleman took a decent beating to Davenport Assumption last week but the Pioneers have game experience.  Davenport West only returns 3 players from last years team.  The opening game is going to be a thriller with Rock Island Alleman pulling off the 53-52 victory over the Falcons.

Davenport North Wildcats (1-3) VS Riverdale Rams (3-5)

Another great matchup.  Although both teams have losing records, they have played most of their opponents in losses real tough.  The Rams get to an early lead and cruise to a 65-60 victory.  Making the overall count-- Illinois 2 Iowa 0.

Pleasant Valley Spartans (2-1) VS United Township Panthers (3-3)

The Spartans are coming off an embarrassing loss to North Scott on Tuesday.  PV is better than the 21 points they put up in the loss.  Likewise, the Panthers from UT are better than the 18 they hung in the loss to Rock Island.  The youth of PV will not be scared in this big time even environment-- PV get Iowa on the left column and wins 51-39.

Davenport Assumption Knights (3-0) VS Moline Maroons (5-0)

This game should have been higher on the event card.  Both teams are undefeated and both teams are undervalued by the coaches.  Although Moline and Assumption were hit by graduation, they both have really looked impressive on their early season victories.  The Knights will tie up the games in the shootout 2-2 won for 2019 and win this game 60-54.

Bettendorf Bulldogs (0-3) at Galesburg Silver Streaks (5-2)

Ouch.  This looked like a good game on paper- we guess.  Bettendorf has lost some players due to fatigue from other sports and playing too early in pride games.  Galesburg has shown they can put up some big numbers on the scoreboard when needed. The Silver Streaks win this game with ease 56-49.

Davenport Central (1-2) VS Geneseo Maple Leafs (5-1)

This is going to be a great game.  Should get the crowd hyped for the main event-- and possibly could steal the show.  Geneseo has great talent and could have won the only blemish on their record.  Davenport Central had high hopes for this season and they will be just fine come post-season in 2020.  Don't let the losing record fool you, the Blue Devils can ball.  So can the Leafs.  Geneseo wins this game 56-55 in a classic Shootout game and will clinch it for the Illinois side with it's fourth victory of the day.

North Scott Lancers (2-1) VS Rock Island Rocks (6-3)

It is no surprise these two teams are the highlighted match up of the event.  Both teams are selected by the coaches to win their conferences.  It is the fourth time in ten years the two squads will meet.  The Rocks returning veterans are going to lead Rock Island to victory over the Lancers 54-49.

Illinois will win the 2019 Genesis Shootout 5 games to 2.  Evening the series between the two states at 12-12-2.
