While we sometimes drop the ball on protecting our architectural history, it seems we embrace nostalgia when it comes to sports.

One item of Quad Cities sports memorabilia can be found for sale on Minor League Baseball's website.

For a limited time you can score the infamous 'Swing of the Quad Cities' powder-blue baseball cap. The lid is part of a Hometown Collection series of retro baseball threads being released for a limited-time, and in limited quantity, throughout the season.

The Quad Cities minor-league baseball affiliate was known as the Swing of the Quad Cities for a four-year stint beginning in 2004, before returning to the River Bandits moniker for the 2008 season.

The Swing branding was divisive. Most fans either loved or hated the name and colors, but those who loved it are buying the retro cap. As of this writing, there are only 7 Swing caps left on the MiLB site, for a cool $39.99.

Swing on over (see what I did there?) to this link and grab one before they're gone.
