Where there's a helpful smile in every aisle...for now anyway.

Hy-Vee announced today that they will be making changes to a few of their stores.  "Repurposing" a few into other businesses and closing a couple locations within our listening area.

According to the press release:

  • The John Deere Road Hy-Vee, located at 750 42nd Avenue Drive in Moline, Illinois, will close permanently at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 1, 2022.
  • The Collins Road Hy-Vee, located at 279 Collins Road NE in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, will close permanently at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 9, 2022.

Hy-Vee made mention in their press release that they will be repurposing two grocery stores (one into a Wall to Wall Wine and Spirits and the other into a non-retail site).  They'll be closing two other grocery stores in early 2022. All employees effected will be offered positions with the same pay and benefits across the company’s other stores in each respective market.

A couple more closings/"repurposings" include stores in Kansas City, Missouri, Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Hy-Vee Aisles Online pick up services at these locations will cease on Monday, Dec. 6; however, Aisles Online delivery options for customers served by these stores will still be available and fulfilled by a nearby Hy-Vee location..

Pharmacy customers will receive a letter informing them that their prescriptions will be transferred to a nearby Hy-Vee Pharmacy, or a pharmacy of their choosing.

Hy-Vee, Inc. is an employee-owned corporation operating more than 285 retail stores across eight Midwestern states.  Home to some of the best Chinese food ever sold at a grocery store.

Craft Breweries in the Quad Cities Area

We're very lucky to live in an area with such an amazing, thriving "craft beer scene". You'll be able to find everything you could want.

Not sure what you want? That's ok. The bartenders at these establishments are very well versed and can guide you through a wonderland of Ales and Lagers.

From "coffee infused" to "riff infused".

From "pale ales" to "peanut butter porters".

Fruity, Sour, Hoppy, Malty, Crisp, Crushable beers in all shapes and sizes.

Crowlers, Growlers, Cans & Kegs...the Quad Cities Craft Beer scene has it all.

And of course...a great beer isn't complete unless it's paired with some amazing food. Whether it's made in the breweries kitchen or in the food truck in the parking lot...brewers know that people love food with their beer.
