Hawkeyes Likely To Have a New Starting QB Against Washington
The Iowa Hawkeye football team has a rare Friday night Big Ten game on the road at Washington. And for the first time this season, they're likely to have a new starter at the quarterback position.
Hawkeyes' Starting QB On The Mend
Iowa starting quarterback Hank Brown had to leave the Ohio State game due to a sprained throwing shoulder. The injury is likely to keep him out of tonight's game at Washington. ESPN reports that Brown is officially listed as questionable for tonight's game. Brown told reporters this week that he sprained his AC joint in the second half of Iowa's loss to Ohio State.
Who Will Be The New Starting QB?
With Brown on the mend, Jeremy Hecklinski is the likely starter against Washington. ESPN reports that Hecklinski has taken the starter's reps during practice this week, with Jimmy Sullivan serving as the backup. Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz stated this week that while Brown could be medically cleared for tonight's game, he simply hasn't practiced enough to play, according to ESPN.

Hecklinski competed with Brown for the starting quarterback job throughout the spring and summer. After replacing Brown against Ohio State, he led the Hawkeyes to a touchdown drive in the fourth quarter, completing all five of his passes, according to ESPN.
Brown has been the starter during Iowa's first five games, throwing for 832 yards, five touchdowns, and just one interception.
Iowa will play at Washington tonight. Kickoff is at 8 p.m. Iowa time, with the game being televised on FOX.
