The Block Party and Live@Five Concert Series

Every summer, Common Chord treats the community to a series of free concerts called Live@Five. This year, they are celebrating their 19th year in downtown Davenport and are more excited than ever. The Live@Five Summer Concert Series takes place every Friday from 5-7 p.m., starting in June and running through September.

It's a fantastic opportunity to enjoy the talents of some of the best local bands while basking in a casual, family-friendly atmosphere. With the support of generous sponsors, Common Chord transforms the Skybridge Courtyard into a vibrant hub of music and community spirit.

Community Partners and Summer Programs

The June 2 Block Party serves as the official kick-off for the Live@Five Concert Series and the OneSound Piano Project. In addition to the fantastic music, the Block Party offers a range of activities for all ages. Children can delight in free face painting and animal balloons, while the community cultural partners from across the Quad Cities showcase their summer program offerings.

Explore the diverse offerings of organizations like the Quad City Symphony Orchestra, Putnam Museum & Science Center, Figge Art Museum, Quad City Botanical Center, Quad City Arts, and more.

The OneSound Piano Project

The OneSound Piano Project, introduced last year, returns with even more artist-designed pianos scattered across the Quad Cities. This creative placemaking initiative aims to bring music, art, and interaction to the community's public spaces. Fourteen pianos, adorned with captivating designs, will be placed in iconic Quad-City locations, such as Niabi Zoo, Freight House Farmers' Market, Quad City International Airport, and VanderVeer Botanical Park. These pianos invite the public to engage with creativity, breaking down social barriers through music.

Common Chord's dedication to activating the power of music in the Quad Cities is evident through initiatives like the Live@Five Concert Series and the OneSound Piano Project. By providing accessible community concerts and creating opportunities for artistic expression, they enrich the cultural fabric of downtown Davenport. So, mark your calendars and join the festivities at the block party on June 2, where summer excitement and the joy of music will ignite the spirit of the Quad Cities community. Let the melodies carry you into a summer filled with warmth, creativity, and unforgettable moments.
