Quad Cities Sports This Weekend

It is that wonderful time of the year.  It is the time of year that high school football playoffs begin and the Major League Baseball postseason concludes.  The time of the year where the anticipation for a new hockey franchise in the Quad Cities is barely eclipsed by seasonal beers and Halloween costumes and parties.  We, at Don't Hassle Us We're Local, would like to give you a guide as to what to do this weekend that is the best thing for you to feed your sports hunger or the satisfy your Halloween sprit.

FRIDAY 10/26

• The IAHSAA will begin the 2018 high school football playoffs.  There will be eight teams on the Iowa side in the Quad City area fighting for a chance to advance to the state quarter finals, including the rivalry Bettendorf vs Pleasant Valley rematch from Week 1.  If you can't make it in person to see the Spartans visit Touvelle to take on the Bulldogs, you can listen on QC Sports Net.  By the way, Ken Jacoby will be a guest on Friday's show. • The Quad City Storm have a 7:00 puck drop against their rivals the Peoria Riverman at the TaxSlayer Center.  Come dressed in costume and enjoy $2 hotdogs and $2 beers.  Also, the kids can celebrate early on Friday night and trick or treat with the players after the game.

SATURDAY 10/27

• The Moline Maroons play host to Glenbard North in an Illinois Class 7A state playoff game.  Rock Island Alleman, Orion, and Sterling all have post season football games this weekend, too.
• The #18 Iowa Hawkeyes travel to Happy Valley to talk on the Penn State Nittany Lions in B1G football for a 2:30 CST kickoff and you should make plans to be at PINTS to fight, fight, fight for Iowa!  Drink specials all day, including $12 buckets of domestic beers and $1 shots of "Hawkeye Gold" when Iowa scores a touchdown.  This week Bettenhausen's HOT DOG Haus will be right outside the Pint's PARTIO.
• SCW Pro Wrestling HAWKAMANIA VI will be going on at the Wildwood BBQ & Saloon in Iowa City starting at 7:30.  Some featured matches are the "Battle For The Best Black and Brave Graduate" between Joe Acer and Connor Braxton, "Mean" Mason Beck vs Travis Titan for the SCW Pro #1 contender for the heavyweight championship, and former Iowa Hawkeye, Steve Manders, in a non-disqualification match versus Braeden McBride for the QC Cup.  Pat Angerer will be the guest emcee for this event.
• The annual 97X Dwyer & Michaels Halloween Costume Ball will be going on at the Mississippi Fair Grounds. There will be live music from Funktastic 5 and Electric Shock, free Happy Joe's pizza, and Bent River Brewing Company will be serving a beer made special for this event.  Click the link to purchase tickets.
• The 12th annual Harrington's Pub Halloween Bash starts off at 9:00.  There will be some scary karaoke talent and excellent costumes at this party.  House cash to winners of the best male, best female, and best couple costume.  Contest is at midnight.
• ELEVEN17 will have their very first Halloween "house party" in the East Village of Davenport.  Enjoy $2.50 tallboys $5 bombs $3 fireballs as Doug Brundiesplays live music. Costume contest for house cash! $100 for 1st place, $50 for 2nd and $25 for 3rd.  Don't forget about the FREE shots at 11:17!

SUNDAY
