
Red Cross To Distribute Emergency Supplies In Davenport
American Red Cross volunteers will be distributing emergency supplies in Davenport on Tuesday. These supplies are available for all area residents affected by severe weather last week. Items such as mops, gloves, buckets, trash bags, and additional supplies will be provided.
On Tuesday, July 15, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Davenport Community School District (JB Young Opportunity Center) on 1702 N. Main Street in Davenport, volunteers will be there to help those impacted by the storms.
Davenport Severe Weather on July 11
The National Weather Service confirmed an EF2 tornado cut through Davenport with peak winds estimated at 120mph. The tornado’s seven-mile path started southeast of Bluegrass around 5:00 p.m., continuing northeast through Emeis Park and ending near Kimberly and Fairmount around 5:13 p.m.
What The Red Cross Will Distribute
Contents of Red Cross Clean-Up Kit Buckets:
- One mop
- One squeegee
- Two brooms, different sizes
- Two handles to use with mop/brooms/squeegee
- One scrub brush
- One sponge
- One mask
- One pair of leather work gloves
- One pair of blue nitrile gloves
- Three heavy-duty trash bags
- One quart bottle of highly concentrated Bully II hard surface cleaner/degreaser
