As the weather gets warmer and warmer, we're officially entering the Midwest's worst season: construction. (Winter is a close second though). Technically construction isn't the reason the Government Bridge is closing this weekend, but it's still annoying.

This time, the bridge is closing just for an inspection, according to a Facebook post from Davenport Public Works. Per the post, the bridge will be closed literally all day, from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.

There is a possibility that it will reopen earlier than that, if the city finishes up their work quicker than expected. Then again, I can't remember the last time that happened...it's probably best just to plan on using another route to get where you need to go.

On the upside, it's supposed to be pretty warm this weekend — like almost 90 degrees kind of warm — but it's also supposed to rain too. And THAT definitely won't help the inspection go any faster.
