According to KCCI, The Iowa Smokehouse Original Smoke Beef Sticks, out of Albia, Iowa are being recalled due to the fact that the product contains milk, which is a potential allergen, but it is not declared on the label.

About 14,976 pounds worth has been recalled. That's a lot of meat to handle. This may be hard for you to swallow.

The beef sticks in question were produced between Nov. 15 and Nov. 17, 2021, so that means if you were given the meat for Christmas it's possible you may have the beef everyone has been looking for.

First thing you should do is check your package.  Grasp firmly and inspect for any signs of tainted meat.   Don't be afraid to get up on it.

Being a lover of meat sticks has it's ups & downs.  Sometimes it's a little hard.

The Mayo Clinic says, "people who suffer from milk allergies can experience hives, wheezing, itching or tingling feelings around the lips or mouth, swelling of the lips, tongue or throat, coughing, shortness of breath and vomiting."

So, if the white stuff is something that's not on your regular diet please exercise caution when throwing back the meat stick.  This could upset your stomach or just leave a bad taste in your mouth.

What To Do

If you notice something afoul with your friends meat stick don't shame him.  Don't come off as cocky with this news. Also, don't brag about your beef sticks not being recalled and rub it in his face.  That would be considered a dick move.

What The Quad Cities Did For Fun in the 90's

Many times over the years, I'll be talking with friends about years gone by and I'll say "take me back".

Every generation goes through this, I assume. Looking back at a more simple time where responsibilities haven't set in and life seems fun. Opportunities are endless.

Let's go back to the 1990's to Wacky Waters, 50 Cent Beer night and revisit Mallards Mania!

Quad Cities Live Music Venues That Aren't Live Music Venues Anymore

Nostalgia Alert!.

We've compiled a quick list (by no means comprehensive) of venues in the Quad Cities that are no longer music venues but to us will ALWAYS hold a special place were we saw some great shows and made some incredible memories.

To many of us the live music scene wasn't just a concert here & there. It was an every weekend affair. And it didn't matter if it was a touring band or your buddy's band. We were going to be there with a beer in hand and scream along with guitars that were way too loud in a room that was improperly treated acoustically and make some bad decisions.
