If you're like us, bacon and beer aren't just two great tastes that taste great together – they're two great tastes that deserve their own dedicated festival! On Saturday, October 2, 2021, Riverview Bandshell in Clinton Iowa will host its second annual Bacon & Brew Fest. Time to bring bacon and beer aficionados from all over the Midwest to celebrate the best of both worlds!

Bacon

According to Dr. Stephanie Stolz, author of Food and Behavior , Fatty foods trigger dopamine release. And since humans are hard-wired to seek out fatty foods over lean foods, it’s easy to see why bacon has become one of our greatest culinary loves.

Beer

It’s hard to find someone who doesn’t enjoy an ice-cold beer. In fact, it’s almost impossible. But why is that? Beer has been around for thousands of years, but no one really knows how it got so popular. Some say that alcohol was first used as a social lubricant to help us forge alliances and friendships, which may partially explain its popularity. Other cultures even consider it part of their religion—and have rituals centered around drinking beer.

Quad Cities Live Music Venues That Aren't Live Music Venues Anymore

Nostalgia Alert!.

We've compiled a quick list (by no means comprehensive) of venues in the Quad Cities that are no longer music venues but to us will ALWAYS hold a special place were we saw some great shows and made some incredible memories.

To many of us the live music scene wasn't just a concert here & there. It was an every weekend affair. And it didn't matter if it was a touring band or your buddy's band. We were going to be there with a beer in hand and scream along with guitars that were way too loud in a room that was improperly treated acoustically and make some bad decisions.
