As the nation, more importantly college age students, return back to school this Fall there is plenty to be worried about and procedures that may have not anticipated COVID related problems on school campuses.

Many college students are headed to college campuses all over the United States.  Some for the first time and some are first time off campus residents.  It is hard to ask an 18-23 year old to not socialize and to just "stay home"-- it is practically impossible.

At  Iowa State University this past weekend students flocked to off campus parties, despite the 75 confirmed COVID cases reported on Friday.

And then this morning the UNC Daily Tar Heel ran this article...

Yeah-- it is pretty graphic language but it is in the Oxford English dictionary.

clusterfuck (n) : a complex and utterly disordered and mismanaged situation

It is reported that there have been 3 "cluster" cases of outbreaks on the UNC campus and the editorial board of the student newspaper is not happy.

We’re angry — and we’re scared. We’re tired of the gaslighting, tired of the secrecy, tired of being treated like cash cows by a University with such blatant disregard for our lives.

There is so much uncertainty when it comes to the correct way to "return to learn".  Rarely, do we see any type of learning institution, elementary to university, follow county health department suggestions or CDC guidelines.

As the University of Iowa, University of Northern Iowa, Iowa State University, and the hundreds of other college campuses return to school, all eyes will be on how the next generation handles social distancing in a responsible manner.
