I haven't had a very good year.  2020 will go down as my worst year ever.

Unfortunately, I am not the only person who has had a bad year.  As a matter of fact, I don't know anyone who has claimed to have a very good year.  So complaining about 2020 will only fall on deaf ears.

The end of 2020 has not been good to the University of Iowa football team, either.

On Sunday, just 72 hours before kickoff, the University of Missouri announced that they could not participate in the Nashville hosted Music City Bowl game against Iowa due to a rise in COVID cases that they have seen since their December 19th game against Mississippi State.

I want to thank the hard work of those involved in helping plan this year’s bowl, which we were prepared to host this week,” Scott Ramsey, President & CEO of the TransPerfect Music City Bowl said. “Unfortunately, Missouri’s high positive COVID-19 numbers have resulted in the cancelation of this game. We look forward to planning for 2021.

After starting the season with two losses, Iowa rattled off six straight wins and were a -13.5 favorite against the Missouri Tigers.

Iowa is averaging 35.7 points per game and allowing 13.8 ppg during the winning streak. Iowa has won six straight Big Ten games for the 5th time in the last 30 seasons (2020, 2015, 2008, 2004, 1991)

We are extremely disappointed to have our season end today.  This is a remarkable group of players and men, and it has been an honor to coach them.

This has been a very special team. We have overcome several challenges together during a season like no other. I am incredibly proud of this entire team and saddened that we will not have one more chance to get out and compete together.

Finally, I want to thank everyone within our program, players and parents, coaching staff and medical staff, and our fans for their support throughout this season.

Coach Ferentz is always a great leader but what also sucks is that a win against Missouri-- and they would have won, would have tied him with former Penn State coach Joe Paterno for most bowl wins as a member of the Big Ten Conference.

Ferentz has a 9-8 bowl record and has led Iowa to three straight bowl wins, tying its longest such streak in program history. Ferentz’s nine bowl wins tie Barry Alvarez for second in Big Ten history.

Overall, the players aren't very happy...

And we are going to miss our friend of the show so much...

What a crazy year this has been.  So dumb.

Hoping we can all make a New Year's Resolution to make 2021 be a better year than last year and that we can put this B.S. of a year behind us.
