Fall Fest Returns to LeClaire’s Levee for a Day of Family Fun

The River Valley Optimist Club and LeClaire Fall Fest are teaming up to host a festive community gathering on Sunday, October 12, along the North Levee in LeClaire. The event promises five hours of free family-friendly entertainment supporting local youth programs.

What to Expect at Fall Fest

From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., the LeClaire levee area will come alive with activities and attractions for all ages. Families can look forward to:

• Face painting, games, and crafts for children
• A petting zoo where kids can interact with animals
• A curated fall photo spot—ideal for family pictures
• A variety of local vendors offering food, beverages, and handmade goods
• Live music by the duo Pam & Dave setting a festive tone

The event will also feature a display of pumpkins and seasonal decorations, as in past years when organizers included “a truckload of pumpkins and gourds” to enhance the autumn ambiance.

Supporting Local Youth Programs

While admission is free, Fall Fest will accept donations to benefit community projects. The River Valley Optimist Club uses proceeds to support initiatives including the Basketball Clinic, Big Wheel Races, food assistance, and the Values Award Program. Organizers noted that “Donations welcome!” and emphasized that all contributions will support local youth efforts.

Community & Commerce Combined

Beyond fun and fundraising, Fall Fest doubles as a marketplace for local artisans and small businesses. In recent iterations, vendors offered a wide array of seasonal and handcrafted items—everything from soaps, honey, and bath bombs to garden décor, baked goods, and fall-themed art. The festival has also featured homemade food items, kettle corn, and other treats, creating a blend of shopping and celebration.

LeClaire city officials have previously promoted the event as part of its calendar, noting that it transforms the levee into a vibrant riverfront venue for community gathering and seasonal enjoyment.
