JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS AT KANSAS CITY CHIEFS (-3)
The Chiefs are coming off a Monday Night game after beating division rival Denver Broncos. Kansas City is 1-1 in the last 3 years Against The Spread (ATS) after a Monday Night Football game and are 6-5 after beating a division opponent. The Jaguars defense allow only 14.0 points per game while the Kansas City offense is averaging 36.2 points per game. Non-believers of Kansas City's success and their quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, have swore the league will figure out the Chiefs. This is the week to prove the league has caught up. TRoy and Jay are riding the 4-0 ATS Chiefs until they no longer cover (same is said of the L.A. Rams) and Derek took the points on the road and backed the Jags.
GREEN BAY PACKERS (-1) AT DETROIT LIONS
During guess the lines on Tuesday's show, Jay had this line at much higher than what it opened at. Jay stands behind, even if on one leg, the Packers in this game. The Packers are not the same team on the road this season and currently, the 2-2 ATS Pack, is 0-1 in road games. Traditionally, the Lions play the Packers tough at home and are 2-2 ATS at home against them in the past 3 years. But, the line has never been this close. Derek agrees with Jay and takes Green Bay. TRoy is a sucker for that "city boy. Born and raised in south Detroit" and TRoy is taking the midnight train going anywhere.
OAKLAND RAIDERS AND L.A. CHARGERS (-5)
This one is going to be fun. You just don't know what you get with the Chargers. Hard to figure out why everyone likes them. Every year they are are sexy pick to come out of the AFC West and every year they are 8-8. Why does anyone likes the Raiders? Derek does. He picked them to cover spread but not win. Although the numbers don't back the Chargers, currently 0-2 at home ATS, Chargers should roll here. They have better offensive weapons and should win the turnover battle. TRoy and Jay gave up the points and took the home favorite Bolts. The over of 53 should easily hit in this game as both teams are averaging giving up 30 PPG.
MINNESOTA VIKINGS AT PHILADELPHIA EAGLES (-3)
Neither team has performed will this season. The Vikings own a 1-2-1 ATS record and the Eagles are sporting a 1-3 ATS. The Vikings, however, have had 3 extra days of rest than the Eagles and the Eagles just played an overtime game. Will fatigue be a factor? The Eagle are currently 0-2 ATS when having 6 days or less rest in between games. Although Minnesota ATS is trending down and Philadelphia owns a 2-0 ATS against them in the past 3 years, Jay picked the Vikings to win outright. Derek and TRoy back the defending Super Bowl champs.
DALLAS COWBOYS AT HOUSTON TEXANS (-3)
Don't know why the Texans are favored in this game. Watson and the Houston offense has shown very little resemblance of the team it was in 2017 when Deshaun was under center for them. Last week was win against a divisional opponent and their first win ATS in 2018, but would they have gotten that victory if Coach Reich goes for it on 4th down in Texan territory in overtime? Jay doesn't think so and also points to Houston's 0-6 ATS following a win against a division rival since the start of the 2016 season. Derek gives up the points and TRoy, of course, takes the Cowboys.
WASHINGTON REDSKINS at NEW ORLEANS SAINTS (-6.5)
There are 3 major things to point to why to give up the points and take the Saints on Monday night:
- Drew Brees can break Peyton Mannings with 201 passing yards in this game. A prime time home game. Brees and the Saints offense are going to light it up. They currently average 34.2 PPG and you can expect them to get to nearly points 30 by half.
- New Orleans is 9-1 ATS in October home games since the start of the 2012 season.
- The Redskins have lost each of their four Monday night games by nine or more points since the start of 2016.
